The best Christmas

It was a snowy evening. Santa Claus sat on his big red chair. A giant chocolate cookie went into his mouth. At this moment Santa remembered something. ‘In 48 hours it’s Christmas!’ he screamed.

‘Polina and Holly – go and bring the presents! Hugo and Beffany – prepare my sleigh! Oh, and Hugo, can you give the reindeer some food, please? They are always hungry. – Uah, Christmas is cooomiiiiiing!!!’ Santa said.

All of Santa’s Christmas elves ran into the storage room. There were all the presents for the children. Santa went to his bedroom and grabbed his heavy red coat. When he put it on, he looked – well, he looked like Santa Claus!

‘And now the most important thing – my red hat!” Santa said.

Twenty minutes later Santa sat in his red sleigh.

‘Go Dasher, go Dancer, go Prancer, go Vixen, go Comet, go Cupid, go Donder and go Blitzen!’ he shouted.

Santa’s reindeer started to run and then – they were flying!

Santa distributed many presents everywhere in the world. A little while later Santa walked out of a house. He sat in his sleigh and wanted to start again but Comet, one of his reindeer, didn’t stand up.

‘Cooomeeet! Stand up – NOW!’ Santa shouted. He was angry.

But he shouted too loud. In front of the door of the house and behind his sleigh there was a boy with a blue pyjama.

‘S… S…Santa?! YOU?? Is it really you?’ the little boy asked.

‘Uhm, yes, I think it’s me, right?’ Santa said and he was a bit confused.

‘Why are you here?’ the little boy asked. He had so many questions.

‘Well, I brought presents for you and your family…,’ Santa said.

‘And then,’ the boy asked.

‘Then I wanted to fly away to other families but Comet didn’t stand up,’ Santa told the boy.

‘And then?’ the little boy asked again.

‘Then I saw you,’ Santa said. He went to Comet. Comet’s leg was bloody.

‘Oh, no – it’s worse than I thought,’ Santa said a bit worried.

‘Oh, no. I’m very sorry,’ the boy said. ‘I don’t know if that helps…,’ he paused and looked at his reindeer plush toy. ‘Maybe you can put some magic dust on my toy and then…,’ he paused again. ‘Maybe then my toy can fly and can substitute Comet,’ the boy suggested.

‘What’s your name?’ Santa sked.

‘My name is Timmy. Timmy Anderson,’ the boy said.

‘Timmy Anderson, you are the cleverest boy I ever met!’ Santa said with a smile on his face. Santa put some magic dust on Timmy’s reindeer toy. ‘OK, let’s go! We still have a lot of things to do,’ Santa said cheerfully.

Timmy was confused. ‘Did you say WE have a lot to do?’ he asked.

‘Yes, WE have a lot to do. Come into my sleigh,’ Santa said. ‘It’s going to be fun!’

Timmy got into the sleigh…

A while later Santa was sitting again in his big red chair. And of course he was eating a giant chocolate cookie.

‘That was a perfect Christmas. The best Christmas in my life,’ Santa said and he fell asleep.
